WHAT TO SEE

Magic Fountain Barcelona – music, water acrobatics and lights

When I arrived to Barcelona for the first time in 1994, everything was magical. On top I happened to come just in time for the city’s one-week celebration of their patron saint – the Merce. Concerts and activities everywhere you go in the city … and one particularly impressive Piromusical at the Magic Fountain. A big laser show was held and I was simply stunned, maybe also because I was at the tender age of 20 and had not yet traveled as much šŸ˜‰ But still, the Magic Fountain brings good memories.

Font Magic

Nowadays the Magic Fountain can be seen nearly all year long, except for some time in the winter months when it is being repaired.

Definitely worth the visit of the Piromusical taking place every year at the end of the Merce Festivities! But nevertheless, throughout the year the evening show at the fountain is nice to see as well. The beautiful Palau NacionalĀ serves as a natural and impressive backdrop.

Location: Plaza Espanya, Metro L1 (Red Line) and L3 (Green Line)

  1. I missed this by a week when I visited…I’ll definitely have to catch it when I go back!
